Easy Peasy Apple Crumble

This recipe was given to me by a family member a few years ago. I finally pulled it out and gave it a go. Boy, was it yummy! And easy! And quick!

I used whole wheat pastry flour and Truvia, because I like to squeeze in any extra nutrition that I can. It came out great! Feel free to use your flour and sweetener of choice, though.

I also halved the recipe since it’s just my husband and me, so double this if you’d like to make a full-sized crumble in a 9 x 9 square baking dish.

Easy Peasy Apple Crumble

*Double These Ingredients for Full-Sized Crumble. THIS IS A HALF-RECIPE.*

Apple Filling

  • 2 Apples – Cubed
  • 2 Tbsp Truvia (or 1/4 Cup Sugar)
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Crumble Topping

  • 1/3 Cup Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Melted Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Truvia (or 1/2 Cup Sugar)
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 375° and spray a baking dish with nonstick spray. I used a little 2.5-serving dish, but if you’re doubling the recipe, use your standard 9 x 9.

2. Make the filling: Combine the apples, Truvia, and cinnamon. Toss it all around so the apples are evenly coated. Spread this mixture in an even layer on the bottom of your baking dish.

3. Make the Topping: Combine the flour, melted butter, Truvia, and cinnamon. Mix this all together until it is the consistency of wet sand. Hand-crumble this mixture all over the top of your apple layer, covering as much as you can.

4. Bake for 40 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream … after you sneak your first bite like I did!
